Is a Family Advocate Right for You?

It's a question our founders once asked themselves when they were personally faced with the insurmountable task of navigating the world of special needs care for their respective children. Now, as experienced family advocates, they offer parents and caregivers some much needed peace of mind.

Before we tell you some great reasons to use an advocate, allow us to explain exactly who our company sets out to help.

California Advocacy Group serves families living in Los Angeles and its surrounding counties. Our primary focus of advocacy is for children with special needs and/or developmental delays.

Many of our families come to us because their child has recently been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and they feel lost and overwhelmed. Families also can benefit from our services if the child has been diagnosed with epilepsy, cerebral palsy, a learning disability, a rare genetic disorder or has received an organ transplant. Of course, some families seek out advocates because their child is in the hospital and suffering from a traumatic brain injury, and they are understandably worried about the next steps. Other families simply want guidance before they even have a diagnosis because they are concerned with their child's speech or behavior and are rightfully worried that their child isn't meeting developmental milestones, and they don't know why.

We are here for all of these families. We work with them step-by-step from diagnosis through appeal—and everything in-between. Our focus is on helping families obtain all the appropriate programs and benefits for their child that is available in California. We  personalize a plan for each child and can assist with crucial governmental programs and services, such as Medi-Cal, IHSS, IEPs, CCS, Regional Centers, IPPs, and more.

Our website features an ever-growing glossary of frequently used terms in the special needs world, as well as a robust resource page that can help families better educate themselves about various programs and services provided for free in their area.

California Advocacy Group believes that advocates shouldn't only answer the questions a family asks, but they should provide answers to questions families don't know to ask.
